Abbotsford Farmers' Market
It is the opening day of our 2017 summer season. A short program at 11:00 will include dignitaries, a special musical guest group, the Mennonite Educational Institute Middleschool Drumline. The group is comprised of students in grades 7 & 8. They have performed for many organizations in Abbotsford and across the lower mainland including the BC Lions and BC Provincial Basketball Championships. In March they received the honour of being named BC Drumline Champions.
And, as has become our tradition, the opening ceremony will be capped off with free cake for everyone.
Simultaneously the United Church is holding a plant, bake and garage sale. It begins with a pancake breakfast from 8 – 10.
The weather is finally starting to cooperate and farmers are beginning to be able to join us. This week Abundant Acre Family Farm is in the market with product including garlic scallions, kale, swiss chard, spinach and seed potatoes.
Joining us for the first time ever is Clearbrook Woodcraft. Ross makes cutting boards, cribbage boards, coasters and wind chimes.
