Haney Farmers Market - Step Back in time for Heritage Day
Haney Farmers Market welcomes our special guest, the Maple Ridge Museum. Learn more about the roots of farming where we live. Did you know that Maple Ridge got it's agricultural start in the orcharding trade? Sam Robertson saw the potential in our fertile land for fruit trees and made a name for himself here. By 1886, Sam was growing 16 varieties of apples alone, along with pears, plums and peaches. Maple Ridge was famous for fruit before anything else.
Bring your old paperwork to our Library Shred-a-Thon. They will take it by the boxfull! Time to clean out those 7 year old tax forms. Find them on the Ring Road. Shredding is by donation.
Haney Farmers Market has so much for kids. Our free Kids Korner Craft this week is making paper airplanes. Play with our huge lego set. Sit for a story from our communal book crate. There's kettlecorn, brats on a bun, new strawberries, lemonade, sweets galore, dried fruit and much more! We just might even have face painting this week!
