Haney Farmers Market
Looks like it's going to be another beautiful day at the Market! Sun should be back just in time! The Market is growing every week, with vendors coming down from the Okanagan with their strawberries and fruit, the local farmers offering a larger variety of local, fresh vegetables every week as well. Artisan breads, locally raised beef, cakes, cookies, dairy products and so much more.....we are becoming a one stop shop!
This Saturday we plan to keep you buzzing! Our sixth "From Soil to Salad" is all about Bees. Learn about Bee Friendly Gardening - how to attract bees to your garden and how to plant pollinating plants. You will be bringing home a garlic chive plant.....bees love them!
What's Cooking? Our very own Chef Eileen will be talking about vegetables and preparing a curried vegetable stir fry. Try the fried sage. Sounds delicious! The cooking demonstration begins at noon.
The Kids Korner will be making cards for Father's Day using Thumb Print Art, and Bruce Coughlan will entertain us at the Cafe Corner.
In the Bandstand, along with our monthly book sale, Julia from the Maple Ridge Library will be having story time at 11.
For lunch, visit Beaf's BBQ, Lupita's Mexican Food or Hibiscus Foods. The General Store has lemonade, the info tent has cold, fresh water, and Candace has coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
See you Saturday!
