Granville Island Summer Farmers Market
Hard to believe that August is half over meaning...sorry kiddos...that school is right around the corner. But fret not! There is still 3 full weeks of fun in the sun and I suspect we will have a great summer extension in to fall! Vancouver is incredibly beautiful during the transition period. Which leads us to more delicious fresh vegetables coming in from the farm, thanks to a late harvest season! If you did not know, everyone's favourite farmer has returned much to our joy! DERMOTH PHILLIPS and his incredible produce is here for all of us to indulge and enjoy. Broccoli, cucumbers, peppers and basil! More to come! If you have never checked out Dermoth, after his 20+ years attending our market, it is a must.
Not to take away from our other vendors of course. Grab a bite from Savory Sausage (Tandoori Chicken sausage anyone!!) with a tasty bevvie from Temple Soda. I recommend Blush, atwist on a childhood classic, Cream Soda. Pomegranate juice infused with hibiscus flowers, backed with a pro-biotic punch, this soda makes ‘adult-ing’ fun again. Or, if you wish to indulge in something a little stronger, we have amazing wines from Rocky Creek Winery from Vancouver Island or Forbidden Fruit sweet wines (think ice wines but not) or better yet, our own local Liberty Distillery is offering up samples of their made-on-Granville Island gins, vodkas and white whiskey.
Looking for that something special - anniversary or birthday coming up and you don't know what to get...check out our crafters. Everything from handmade quilts for little ones to beautiful hand-crafted jewellry to satisfy even the most picky person. Know someone that is trying to be eco-conscious (aren't we all??) Mysgreen has a selection of reusable bags and totes, locally made here in Vancouver.
I could go on profligating about all of our wonderful vendors but I must leave some for you to stumble upon yourselves!
See you Thursday, August 17, 10 AM until 3 PM (ish)
