Good Afternoon Squamish Farmers' Market Subscribers!

I bet we have all been feeling the same these sunny last couple of days… Giddy and relieved that it looks like summer has finally arrived… and looking at our calendars, it is also now officially true! This weekend the temperature is forecasted to rise up into the 30°s, and topped off with clear blue skies as far up as the eye can see.

Many might be wondering what to do on a sunny Saturday morning as tomorrow’s will be… and we say to you: what better way than to let the charming, laid back spirit of the Squamish Farmer’s Market be the wrap up to your busy work week?

This week we will have a big market of 48 vendors… many of them familiar faces, but scattered amongst old friends are a few noteworthy folks joining us for the first time tomorrow, including Amo La Vita Food Truck, Blue House Organics and La Lune Collective. Additionally, the market will be kept lively to the beat of a musical performance by Nice Verdes.

We would also like to remind everyone, If you plan to bring your pet with you to market we ask they be kept on a short leash. Our market is a place where people of all sizes and ages come together and ensuring the safety of our customers is very important. We kindly ask our customers respect the space and please watch after their pets.

This Saturday the Chef At The Market program will be taking place! Local Chef, Steve Fecho will be selecting an assortment of fresh, local produce from our vendors in the morning, designing two vegetarian recipes, and then putting on a demonstration for the public on how to cook these dishes… along with handing out plenty of samples for everyone!

And last but not least for announcements,  this is the last week to buy tickets for our June Market Raffle Fundraiser. The prize is a gift basket of a $100 value made up of a bountiful assortment of donations from several of our generous vendors. All proceeds will go directly to support the Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program, a healthy eating initiative where coupons for produce, meats and eggs that can be redeemed are handed out to those who need them most.

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, 10am-3pm!
