Dear Market Subscribers,

I hope everyone enjoyed the last week of August and has been able to squeeze in the last of their summer to-do's. Yes, we may be sad to see the days getting shorter, but despite this, we all can still count on the Squamish Farmers Market to keep our Saturdays bright and cheery! Soon we will be heading into the colourful fall season (including exciting new assortments of fall produce!).

We have a busy day planned for the upcoming market tomorrow. For entertainment, we are having local musical artist Monty Biggins performing live between 11am-2pm. We would recommend our market shoppers check out the opening ceremonies of the ArtWalk event from 11am-3pm, hosted by the Squamish Arts Council, taking place next door to us in Junction Park. ArtWalk is a month-long event that not only features great art by over 40 local artists, but also incorporates fun activites like guided bike tours and creative workshops such as drum-making and chinese brush painting! Our community booth this week is a return of Cutting Barriers, who will be there to provide info about their great culinary training and employment programs, with a great raffle! We would also like to bring attention to a new farmer here this week, Snowy Mountain Organics!

All in all, it sounds like it's going to be another very fine day at our market, and one you certainly shouldn't miss. For some last couple notes, I'd like to give a big congratulatory shoutout to Ms. Lynda MacVicar for winning our August Market Raffle. We thank everyone for all the generous contributions made during the raffle that went towards the Nutrition Coupon Program, and especially to the many generous vendors who donated goods to the great giftbasket prize.

Finally, we kindly request that all market-goers keep their dogs on a short leash for safety and health reasons.

We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces Saturday afternoon!
