Hello Squamish Farmers’ Market Subscribers,

It’s the last day of September! Come bid the month farewell with us and welcome October and its beautiful fall colours. There are still plenty of farmers – in fact, we have eight this week! - offering their abundance of delicious, fresh produce, talented artisans and delicious hot, comfort-food creators to warm your soul. This week, Ron and Joanne from 108 Sausage Company are rolling out their new BAM! BACON SAUSAGE! When you put bacon in well, anything, who could resist? Go grab some while it’s still there!

Our musical guest this week is the talented Matt Blackman. Come for the food and shopping, stay for the toe tapping music! Need a wee break from the action? Stop-in next door to Junction Park where you can unwind and still catch the LAST DAY of the Squamish Art Walk.

Don’t forget to say thanks to those hardworking farmers who bring us fresh, local food at farmers' markets across the province. Your chance to win one of two $100 farmers' market shopping trips with the Farmers’ Market photo contest is still a-go!

To enter the contest, just to snap and share a photo on Instagram of your favourite:

BC farmer + use the hashtag #LoveBCFarmers, or
BC farmers’ market + use the hashtag #LoveBCFarmersMarkets

The photo description should mention which farmers’ market the photo was taken at, and tag @bcfarmersmarket.

Click here for more details. Contest deadline is Monday, October 9, 2017 (Thanksgiving Day).

You can also still donate to the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) / Vancity Community Foundation’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP). Individuals, local businesses, sports teams and other organizations can donate directly and be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Each $20 charitable donation supports a family, individual or senior to buy fresh local food from their farmers’ market one time. A charitable donation of $320 will support a family, individual or senior for the entire summer farmers’ market season, from June to October. To donate, or learn more about the program, visit bcfarmersmarket.org/donate.

October is the last month of the summer market! Come November the Farmers’ Market moves to a cozier location at the Squamish Adventure Centre. Interested in becoming one of our vendors? Our application is now live! Click here to apply.

See you there!

Lots of love,

The Squamish Farmers’ Market Association
