Squamish Summer Farmers' Market - October 14th, 2017
Hello Squamish Farmers’ Market Subscribers,
We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful long weekend and a short work week! Eaten all your Thanksgiving leftovers? Fridge looking a little bare? Come restock at this week’s market! We’ve got a plethora of delicious and nutritious seasonal vegetables from Plenty Wild Farms, Nutrient Dense Farms and Laughing Crow Organics. Grab your fruits from the Okanagan’s Snowy Mountain Organics, then head over for some eggs laid by happy hens from Stony Mountain Farms! Looking for a little more protein? 108 Sausage Company will be there with free-range, antibiotic-free pork products too.
Now that your fridge is stocked, it’s time to fill your belly with some of Squamish’s finest food talents. Ace Curries, Flaca’s Tacos, Carte Diem and of course, the delicious from down under Pie Company will be sending out hot food all day. Dees Donuts will also be there to satisfy that sweet tooth!
This Saturday we have a new face in our vendor line-up! Come check out Drenched in Silver for one-of-a-kind jewelry made of silver and stones. Amelia creates these in her mobile vintage school bus! Come say hello and pick something up for yourself or someone you love.
Our musical guest this week is the awesome Brainchild! These guys write just about everything they perform and perform it well. Come rock out with them from 11-2!
You can also still donate to the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) / Vancity Community Foundation’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP). Individuals, local businesses, sports teams and other organizations can donate directly and be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Each $20 charitable donation supports a family, individual or senior to buy fresh local food from their farmers’ market one time. A charitable donation of $320 will support a family, individual or senior for the entire summer farmers’ market season, from June to October. To donate, or learn more about the program, visit bcfarmersmarket.org/donate.
Don’t forget that come November the Farmers’ Market moves to a cozier location at the Squamish Adventure Centre. Interested in becoming one of our vendors? Our application is now live! Click here to apply.
See you there!
Lots of love,
The Squamish Farmers’ Market Association
