Hello Squamish Farmers’ Market Subscribers,

Hallowe’en is around the corner and pumpkins is the word of the day! It’s time to start that comfort food baking and what better to fill your tasty treats with this season than delicious sugar pumpkins? Plenty Wild Farms and Laughing Crow Organics will be offering them up this Saturday! And of course, the infamous egg-bearing Stony Mountain Farm will also be there to help with your baking needs.

For hot foods, our beloved Gauchos Empanadas team has returned from a trip back to their Motherland to offer their craveable cuisine. This is your last chance this summer season to treat yourself to some Dees Donuts, so grab a bag and share some with your wee ones before you head across the street to the Downtown Squamish Pumpkin Patch at Stan Clarke Park! There you can find $5 pumpkins, games and a haunted house from 10-3. All proceeds go to the Community Christmas Care program. Sweaters and blankets are also being collected for the Helping Hands Society, so please bring some to help warm someone as the cold weather approaches!

Our musical guest this week is the fabulous Madelyn Read! Madelyn is a singer songwriter from the Vancouver Area who currently attends Quest University. She plays a mixture of covers and original songs that range from folk, to pop, to country/bluegrass. She is excited to play this weekend at the Squamish Farmer’s Market and will be joined by fellow Quest Students Marena Salerno Collins on violin and Andrew McKean on guitar. Come check her out from 11-2!

You can also still donate to the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) / Vancity Community Foundation’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP). Individuals, local businesses, sports teams and other organizations can donate directly and be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Each $20 charitable donation supports a family, individual or senior to buy fresh local food from their farmers’ market one time. A charitable donation of $320 will support a family, individual or senior for the entire summer farmers’ market season, from June to October. To donate, or learn more about the program, visit

Don’t forget that Winter (Market) is coming!!! Starting November 4th the Farmers’ Market moves to a cozier location at the Squamish Adventure Centre. We are just working out our upcoming vendor schedule so keep an eye out for an announcement soon!

See you there!

Lots of love,
