Hello Squamish Farmers’ Market Subscribers,

The time has come to say farewell to summer and welcome winter in! It’s our last market of the summer before we move to the Squamish Adventure Centre for our Winter Market, starting next Saturday! For our finale we have brought out all your favourite vendors to help us bid the season adieu.

Our farmers from Plenty Wild, Nutrient Dense, Laughing Crow and Snowy Mountain will be offering their delicious, fresh and local produce and the one and only egg lady from Stony Mountain Farm will be there stocked with gifts from her hens. Come with an empty stomach because we’ve got an unbeatable hot food line-up with Gaucho’s Empanadas, Flaca’s Tacos and Carte Diem – Seize the Souvlaki. Don’t forget to stock up on delicious spreadables from Moe’s Pantry, Preserved, BobAli Hummus, Pestos and Tapenades and Goldstrike Honey. Our talented artisans Tim Cyr and Drenched in Silver will also be there to share their creations with you!

As a final musical act for the summer, we’ve brought in Mr. Stephen Vogler of The Hounds of Buskerville and Some Assembly Required. He’ll be singing the day away from 11-2!

Want to get involved in the Farmers’ Market AND earn some spendables? We are looking for parking attendants to help direct traffic for our Winter Market. No experience required, we will provide the necessary equipment and you just come dressed for the weather. In return we are offering $20 Farmers’ Market gift certificates for a two-hour shift, or $40 gift certificates for a four-hour shift. Shifts are Saturdays beginning at either 10:00 or 12:00 (depending on shift length) from November 4th to December 16th. If you are interested in helping out on any or all market days, please contact the market at squamishfarmersmarket@hotmail.com or 604-848-4339.

You can also still donate to the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) / Vancity Community Foundation’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP). Individuals, local businesses, sports teams and other organizations can donate directly and be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Each $20 charitable donation supports a family, individual or senior to buy fresh local food from their farmers’ market one time. A charitable donation of $320 will support a family, individual or senior for the entire summer farmers’ market season, from June to October. To donate, or learn more about the program, visit bcfarmersmarket.org/donate.

We thank you all for helping us make the summer market so amazing! We couldn’t do it without your support. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at Winter Market, Starting November 4th the at the Squamish Adventure Centre.

See you there!

Lots of love,

The Squamish Farmers’ Market Association
