What's Cooking at the Haney Farmers Market? This week, Chef Kayliegh is our Chef at the Market! She will be doing an awesome demo on flavouring your water with fresh grown herbs! Learn how to grow your own window herbs. Then, you can cut off the fresh leaves and add them to water for a refreshing drink! She will also be talking about making your own smoothies and juices. The demo starts at 12pm so stop by for some yummy samples and recipes to take home!
Learn all about bees in our Soil to Salad workshop, the "ABCs of Bees!" Genevieve Olive, a certified horticulturist and beekeeper in Maple Ridge hosts this workshop. She will talk about the life cycle of native pollinating bees including the honeybee and the wasp. The forage they need to survive and how to help keep the environment safe. This will include specific plants that have nutritious pollen, nectar and propolis for our gardens and for the bees. Sounds super interesting! The workshop starts at 10am.
Keeping with the bee theme, kids can make bumblebee pins in our Kids Korner.
Gourmet Grannies will have a delicious sample to try in our "Try It, You'll Like It!" tent. Stop by for a taste and for recipes to bring home.

For lunch, we have Bannock Queen and Mike's Perfect Perogys. Candace's will have coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, the General Store will have ice cold lemonade, or, some ice cold water at the Information Booth. You can listen to the music of Corey Primus at the Cafe Corner, while you sit back and enjoy your lunch, or snacks, or if you just want to take a load off your feet!
As always, our farmers have fresh, local vegetables, fruits, and more! It's finally strawberry season, so treat yourself to sweet and juicy strawberries! We have tons of farm fresh produce, ethically raised beef, wild ocean caught seafood, free run eggs, fermented foods, jams and preserves, gluten free and vegan treats, artisian bread, and health care products that are additive free.
