Port Coquitlam Farmers Market
What’s happening this week at the Port Coquitlam Farmers Market!
Dogs! Yes, it’s Dog Day at the market this week and we have fun in store for our furry four-legged friends and their people. We will have a Dog Marketplace in a separate area located in the Sculpture Square near The Outlet (we will have signs). Boneheads Kitchen, Healing Pause Paws, Margaret Chic Knits, My Nuk Pet, Patti’s Pooches, and Treats For Fido will all have something special to dazzle your dog. The BCASPCA and The Barn Door Veterinary Care will also have their information booths. At 5:30 there will be a Dog Parade/Costume Contest commencing on the Stage. Which dogs will win a fabulous prize from our generous donors (Bosley’s, PetSmart, Three Dog Bakery, Korna Pet Supply and Uptown Dawg/Prairie Pet Store)? So…. dress up your pooch and come on down for the fun!
New to the market this week is Fresh Roots, a youth group of young aspiring gardeners, Coquitlam River Cannery (jams, sauces, meals in a jar and more), and Personal Touch (planters made from resourced cedar).
Come grab a sweet treat from Bannock Queen, Black Bear Pies, Gary’s Kettle Corn, Faiziah’s Baklava, or Ca Croustille. At the General Store we supply lemonade, water, and organic coffee which this year is generously provided by Frog Friendly Wild Coffee.
There is always something fun for the kids to make in the Imagination Station at Kidz Corner. There is also a rumor that one of the Pups from the Paw Patrol may be wandering around the market to meet everyone and pose for pictures!
Come down to do your produce, prepared foods and crafts shopping. Then grab a sweet treat and coffee and take in the smooth sounds of SONS of GRANVILLE onstage before the fun and mayhem of the DOG COSTUME PARADE! Woof!!
Leigh Square beside City Hall, from 3 to 7 p.m.
