Port Coquitlam Farmers Market
What’s happening this week at the Port Coquitlam Farmers Market!
Did you know that there are still tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes to be found at our market? Well there sure are and this week we are celebrating Tomatoes! Discover the variety of local heirloom tomatoes for yourself from Baker Breeze`s display, enjoy a conversation direct with the grower and then Eileen Dwillies will give a 4:30 Chef Demo. Taste a Tomato Herb Sauce served over warm pasta along with a Tabouli Tomato Salad designed especially to show off the delightful colours of heirlooms.
Baby it’s cold(ish) outside and I’m starting to plan on making lots of soup! Good thing we still have plenty of fresh local produce. Grab some bread from A Bread Affair or Muy Bueno Mexican Breads complimented by some of Albert’s Jams and cheese from Golden Ears Cheesecrafts for a warming meal. If you don’t want to make your own soup grab some keto inspired soup form KetoSips.
In the food court area Mama’s Fish and Chips and at the General Store we supply lemonade, water, and organic coffee which this year is generously provided by Frog Friendly Wild Coffee. Rumor has it that Frog Friendly Wild Coffee will be selling their beans at the market this week.
There is always something fun for the kids to make in the Imagination Station at Kidz Corner. Hayley Brown will be performing on the Stage. Don’t forget our market runs until October 10th! Come down to do your produce, prepared foods and crafts shopping. There is something for everyone!
Next week it’s our Annual Teddy Bear Picnic! Free event for kids and bears.
Leigh Square beside City Hall, from 3 to 7 p.m.
