Squamish Farmers' Market - Saturday, April 27th
Hello Market Lovers,
It's Pitch-In week in Squamish and we aim to do our part! Please come join us to help clean up the market grounds and surrounding area. We will supply the bags and gloves and in return for a full bag we will give you market dollars to spend at a vendor of your choice.
We have a wonderful market for you this weekend, full of sweets, savouries and everything in between plus many offerings from our very talented artisan crafters. We'll get to those in a minute but first, let's talk farm-fresh: Nutrient Dense will be bringing their in-season produce - better get in line for their greens as they go FAST! Speaking of going fast, Stony Mountain Farm will have happily laid eggs for your breakfast and baking feasts! The one and only TESFA Farms will also no-doubt have a line-up for their water buffalo cheeses, meats and other dairy delights so hurry down.
Joining us for their first market of the season will be the bringer of delicious adult beverages, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse produced from organic heirloom apples. You'll also find fine herb salts by Bowen Island Herb Salts and soul-warming soups by Ela Made Me Do It. Ever heard of upcycling your baking ingredients? Check out Susgrainable's baked goods made from upcycled flour, as they create awareness about food waste and resource efficiency. We LOVE this! Once you have satisfied your gastronomic urges, stop by Whimsy Daisy Designs for the best of the best unique home decor, Art by Lan Yao for one-of-a-kind paintings and then outfit your wee ones in upcycled clothing by Endure Upcycled Designs.
That's not all, we have ethnic foods, probiotic-packed fermented foods, wine, photography, ice cream, pet food, cleaning prodcts... the list goes on but you'll have to be there to believe it.
We are also excited to announce our first What's at the Market presentation of the season! For those of you unfamiliar with the program, we will be hosting a series of 15 healthy living presentations throughout the season. Each demonstration tells you how you can use products found at market to create delicious, nutritious edibles and / or sensational artisan crafts. This Saturday we have the Squamish Gardeners Club in to speak to you about starting your garden from seeds. Be there from 10-12 to get in the know!
Following What's at the Market will be our first kids tent activity of the season! In keeping with our pitch-in and gardening theme, we will be making plastic bottle terrariums. Feel free to drop your littles in and have a shop while they get their hands dirty!
To top the day off, we are bringing in Terry Maple to sing us through the day. Terry will be there with his western maple guitar in-hand, warming your hearts and telling tales of hope, love and redemption with his music from 12-3.
It's going to be a great weekend and we can't wait to see you there!
Lots of love from your friendly Squamish Farmers' Market
