Squamish Farmers' Market - Saturday May 11th, 2019
Hello Market Lovers!
We have a wonderful market planned for you this Mothers' Day weekend, so break out the sunscreen and bring the family down for some fun, food and fine artisan creations.
Our incredible farmers this weekend will of course be there with seasonal vegetables by Plenty Wild Organic Farm for the first time this season and Nutrient Dense Farms, eggs laid by happy hens from Stony Mountain Farm and certified organic meat from roaming cattle on Spray Creek Ranch.
We will be welcoming some new vendors to market this week! You will be able to find finely crafted wood decor by BAM Woodworks, divinely scented lavender arrangements by From the Garden Shed and something to fulfill your Parisian side: sensational sweet and savory crepes from Folie Crepes.
There will be plenty to satisfy your sweet teeth, with everything from snowcones to pies, donuts and baked goods and even more for your savoury side including breads galore, vegan cheese, tacos and wine. But don't ignore your non-gastronomic cravings! This weekend we will be hosting some amazing artists - painters, photographers and jewelers, clothing designers, accessory knitters and even natural cleaning products.
Speaking of clean - don't forget to stop by Squamish Cleaning Co. to enter yourself or your hard-working mama in their draw to win a free Mother's Day clean!
We have much to entertain you with. Our second What's at the Market presentation kicks off at 10 am with a cooking demo by the incredibly talented chef Steve Fecho. Steve will be shopping around the market and making a delicious and nutritious meal with ingredients found at market until 12 pm. Following this demo the same tent will host entertainment for the kids! Feel free to drop your littles off at our kids tent while you shop around on market grounds. In keeping with the theme this weekend, our craft this week will be paper flowers made with love for mama!
Music entertainment will be provided by none other than Squamish favourite Cam Salay. Cam Salay has been a professional musician since 1994. He won a Juno award in ’98 as a member of The Paperboys and continues to work as a solo performer as well as a duo called The Splinters with violinist Shannon Saunders. Besides original music , Cam covers a wide range of artists including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Waits, John Denver, Bruce Cockburn, Paul Simon and many others. The Splinters play Irish, east coast, folk, classic rock and more. As a solo performer, Cam sings and performs in several styles on banjo and guitar. He's logged many hours on stages all across North America from festivals to concert halls to pubs, parties, conferences and weddings.
We're looking forward to seeing you this sunny Saturday!
