Squamish Farmers' Market - Saturday May 18th, 2019
Hello Market Lovers,
Happy May long weekend! It is going to be a gorgeous day this Saturday - perfect for lazing around town and checking out what your community has to offer! We'll have all the best artisan crafts, foods, a chef demo, activities to keep the kids busy and music to dance the day away.
Our lovely farmers this weekend will be none other than Nutrient Dense and Plenty Wild offering fresh and tasty seasonal produce. You can even try out the recipe from last week's chef demo of sunchoke soup with produce from our vendors. It is unbelievably good! Grab the recipe on our recipe share here. You will also find Stony Mountain Farms offering eggs laid by happy hens - but get there early, the go fast!
We have some new vendors to tell you about this week: joining us with their Indonesian culinary talents will be Bali Bites, offering Indonesian homestyle sauces, Chaerea Jewelry with one-of-a-kind nature-inspired jewelry made from pressed plant material and Fat Chili Farm slinging freeze-dried foods and meals! You will also be able to adorn yourself for the long weekend with the talents of Kalp Henna. Kalpana is a fair favourite and will be joining us for the first time with her hand-made henna paste all day. For those off the cuff occassions, stop by Type of Candee for some unconventionally humored greeting cards and stationary.
That's not all! You will find many of your favourite vendors from years past returning to market this weekend including the asian-inspired Rockin' Wok, glass bead-maker Linda Davies and many more!
For entertainment and education we will be hosting the very talented chef Rodrigo Rodriguez of Luz Tacos to do a cooking demonstration using ingredients found at market. Check his presentation out in the What's at the Market tent, right beside the market tent from 10-12. After that, the tent will magically morph into our kids craft tent where we will be creating barnyard animals out of popsicle sticks!
The kids won't want to stray too far from that area, because right beside it will be the incredible Carolyn Grass and Friends performing their crowd-pleasing roots rock music from 12-3. These guys always have the best tiny human dance floor so don't forget your camera while you toe-tap the day away!
We'll see you at the corner of Cleveland and Victoria from 10-3, it's going to be a great one!
Your loving Squamish Farmers' Market
