Squamish Farmers' Market - Saturday July 20th, 2019
Hello Market Lovers,
It's going to be a busy one this weekend! Cleveland Ave will be abuzz with Wind Festival goers, happening in Junction Park next door. More on that later...
In case you missed him for his 2019 season debut, we welcomed back one of our berry best vendors last weekend, who will be returning this Saturday: say hello to Hare's Farm organic blueberries! The fruits of his labour didn't last long last week, so be sure to get there early. Hare's will be there as part of our farm team which will include veggie farmers Plenty Wild, Nutrient Dense Farm and Laughing Crow Organics, fruit harvesters Rai Produce, Mandair Farms and Snowy Mountain Organics, egg and meat masters Spray Creek Ranch and Stony Mountain Farm.
The fields are bursting with fresh, local goodness and it’s time to show off this #BuyBC bounty at farmers’ markets around the province with the BC Farmers' Market Instgram Photo Contest!
Post a pic of your favourite Squamish Farmers' Market food producer and you could win $100 to your favourite BC farmers’ market, and a Bernardin Home Canning Kit. Use the hashtag #BCFarmersMarket, and tag and follow @BCFarmersMarket. Don’t forget to mention the Squamish Farmers' Market! The contest deadline is Monday, August 5, 2019 at 11:59pm and two winners will be selected on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
Back to business...
Geo Cider wasn't able to make their last market, but they will be here for the first time this Saturday! Stop by this locally owned and operated cidery booth for a taste of their BC fruit beverages! Bet you can't resist taking home a 6-pack for those hot summer days.
Speaking of summer, we've got lots to keep you looking very en vogue including leather accessories by Art of Leather. These pieces are hand-cut, designs are hand-burned, each piece is individually dyed, polished with beeswax balm and signed. Art on Leather designs are inspired by the West Coastal Nature. Come check out belts, guitar straps, leather cuffs and wallets.
The fashion doesn't stop there - don't forget to stop by Endure Upcycled Designs for clothing and accessories made from previously loved items, Melonhead Knitwear for the coolest in knit fashions, and something for the littles at Imagine Kids Clothing.
Once you've had your market fill, head on over next door and check out the Wind Festival! This is Squamish's largest free festival, happening from 10-4. It's a perfect compliment to a lively market day!
For your musical entertainment we have brought in The Tree Huggers for their market debut. The Tree Huggers are an upbeat, family-friendly acoustic duo. Enjoy their classic covers and thoughtful originals! Our kids craft this Saturday will be egg carton caterpillars - come join us in the kids tent all day or drop your littles off while you shop around on market grounds!
We're excited to take part in the festivities with you, see you there!
