Squamish Farmers' Market - Saturday September 7th, 2019
Hello Market Lovers!
Wow, September... how did we get here so fast?! It's been an awesome summer, and there's still a little bit left to go! We thought you could keep your summer look by adding a little jazz to that crown you never take off. While you're at market, pop over to Rock the Feather and have a look at their beautiful feather hair extensions. Rock The Feather creates handcrafted feather hair extension that they will install right at market! To add to their bohemian feather creations, they have combined a love of meditation and crystals into intention setting jewellery for daily meditation in the form of Bead Meditation Malas and stacking Gemstone Diffuser Bracelets. Rock the Feather provides crystal meaning cards to go with every piece of jewellery as well as care instructions. They use a variety of gemstones and volcanic rock to create Essential Oil Jewellery that can be used to naturally diffuse your favourite essential oils on bracelets and necklaces! Get one before that trendy neighbour down the street beats you to it!
Of course all your favourite farmers will be there with the freshest of the fresh in-season goods! Our team this week will be Plenty Wild Farm, Nutrient Dense Farms and Laughing Crow Organics with scrumptious veggies; Mandair Farms, Rai Produce and Snowy Mountain Organics with oh-so-juicy fruits, Stony Mountain Farms with happily-laid eggs and Spray Creek Ranch with the finest organic meats.
Our What's at the Market presentations are back in full swing! This Saturday we'll be hosting Tristan LeRoux, chef at Northyards Cider Co and soux-chef at Backcountry Brewing. This guy obviously has an incredible palate for both food and drink! He will be putting his skills on display by demonstrating how to make a delicious and nutritious meal made from market ingredients. Tristan's chef demo will run from 10-12 right next to the market tent!
After that, our What's at the Market tent will magically morph into the kids tent, where we will spend the remainder of the day making egg-carton crowns to the tune of the musical talents of Ev Kinsella. Soul-drenched roots singer Evan Kinsella based out of Squamish, BC performing solo, and collaborating with musicians/producers around the world. Inspired by multiple genres and the healing power of music, travel, and love his music is written from the heart aims to invoke positive minds. Ev will be on-stage from 12-3!
It will be a busy day around town, but a great one to hop around Squamish! After you've had your market fill, pop over to one of the Gran Fondo routes and cheer on the riders and then make your way down to the Brackendale Fall Fair to support more of your favourite Sea to Sky Vendors. The fair will be on in the Brackendale Farmers' Institute Park from 10-5.
Happy marketing, we'll see you there!
Your loving Squamish Farmers' Market
