Squamish Farmers' Market - Saturday October 19th, 2019
Hello Market Lovers,
We are into the last two markets of the summer season before we head to the Adventure Centre on November 2nd for our Winter Market! Our hard-working farmers and artisan crafters will be there EVERY Saturday from 10-2 until December 21st.
But we are getting ahead of ourselves here... Hallowe'en hasn't even come and gone yet! It's feeling very fall-like these days, which makes for some wonderful leaf piles and puddle-jumping! So grab your warm gear and come on down for the fun! The fall veg is out (including the pumpkins - mmmm, sugar pumpkin baking) which makes for some of our favourite comfort food meals. For all the ingredients you need to make those bellies warm and full, stop by our awesome farm team this weekend.
You can find the finest fall veg at Plenty Wild Farms, Nutrient Dense Farms and Laughing Crow Organics, pork shares and happily-laid eggs from the amazing Stony Mountain Farm and scrumptious orchard fruits from Snowy Mountain Organics.
Complete your meal with a visit to 108 Sausage Company - here for one final guest appearance this season! 108 offers a wide variety of free-range, antibiotic-free pork products. From a limited assortment of frozen cuts to fresh and frozen sausages, smoked read-to-eat sausages and dry-cured sugar-free bacon! All their products are made in small batches, with no MSG, no lactose, no refined sugars and gluten-free! These guys are always a big hit when they come down, so get there fast to get your fill!
Once you've had a chance to peruse the rest of our talented artisans sit down to enjoy your treats while we entertain you! If you didn't catch this Moe Ryan's cooking demo last time she was here, now is your chance! Moe, the one and only master jam-maker and creator of all things good at Moe's Pantry will be showing off her cooking skills right next to the market tent from 10-12. Then get ready to tap a toe or two to the tune of the very entertaining Brain Child! If you've never seen these guys play you'll want to make some extra time for their show. Brain Child is nothing but entertainment and good music that is sure to get you and yours on the dance floor! BrainChild is a folk/folk-blues/folk-rock band from Vancouver playing 98% original music, written by their principal songwriter, Bing Jensen. They have a long tradition steeped in the 'Hippie' counter-culture of the 1960's - from which both Bing and Dave were active members in the San Francisco music scene, until their decision to head to the "Great White North" when the spectre of Vietnam loomed large over the Bay Area... You can catch them on stage from 12-3!
Once you've had your market fill, head across the street for the Pumpkin Patch in the park, where you and your littles can costume-up, pick your pumpkins by donation and do some arts and crafts! The fun will be on from 10-2!
We love these fall days - can't wait to see you there!
Your Loving Squamish Farmers' Market
