Squamish Winter Farmers' Market - Saturday November 16th, 2019
Hello Market Lovers!
As the days become more "wintery" (that's a word, right?!) we start to see more of the seasonal fairs begin to emerge. The Squamish Farmers' Market is all about supporting our community and we are thrilled that our Sea to Sky vendors are able to share their talents with you at the many venues available around town. We want to encourage our community members to make your Saturday a market hopping day!
First make your way over to the Adventure Centre and stock your kitchen for the week with the season's best vegetables from Nutrient Dense Farms, Plenty Wild Farms and Four Beat Farms; pick up sensational orchard fruits from Blackwater Creek orchard and then fill up on meat and eggs from Stony Mountain Farm and Spray Creek Ranch.
Just a reminder that laying hens are currently moulting so egg production is lower than usual, so you may want to get to market early to make sure you get your breakfast essentials!
Now that the winter air is about, we all start to gravitate toward the warm and fuzzies. Well this weekend may be one of your last chances to get your hands on some one-of-a-kind winter wear by Time To Be A Unicorn... or anything else you want to be! This artisan offers handcrafted fleece hats & mittens - infant to adult sizes, designed and sewn with love. Come get them while they last! This year will be the LAST YEAR they are available before their maker takes a break from her sewing endeavours.
Once you are all cozied up, you can peruse the rest of the market in style. There is plenty to check out including jams and pickled foods, upcycled clothes, feather hair extensions, jewelry, photography and even rain-water filtration systems! Vendors are located outside the Adventure Centre, on the deck and inside along the walkways.
If you're ready to do some great people-watching backed by an incredible view of the Chief, grab a coffee and a seat in Cafe Garibaldi and take it all in. After that, don't forget to make your way over to Refresh Market happening at the Heritage Railway Station and support a fine collection of vendors from the Sea to Sky region.
We can't wait for this market weekend, we'll see you there!
